Get ready to play with words and paint among the natural beauty of this space!
Interactive means participants get to engage in the displays of visual and literary art along a walking path. You can contemplate 99-word stories from writers at Carrot Ranch who wrote to each of Tammy’s 20 selected original pieces of art. You can respond with a reflection, haiku, or 99-word story inspired by art and nature. You can paint rocks or driftwood, or linger in the woods.
Tickets and time slots ensure small groups will get to engage with the art, environment, and each other. Tammy’s art and Charli’s writing will also be for sale. They plan to publish a commemorative chapbook on the art and writing displayed, as well as selected participant submissions. Proceeds from the chapbook will sustain future events.
Refreshments, Porta-Potty, and parking will be available. The walk is designed to be accessible for varying levels of mobility. If it rains, October 7 will be the alternate event date.
Red Rabbit Bay is approximately 40 minutes from the Houghton/Hancock area. Directions and signs provided. Plan accordingly for your time slot.
This is a family-friendly event. Ask about a household discount or scholarship because we don’t want money to be a barrier to art. Email Tammy at tojgajewsku (at) gmail (dot) com.
If money isn’t a barrier, please consider donating to help make this event inclusive for all in our community. We suggest that groups carpool if possible. Please leave dogs, cats, and goats at home. Bring your inner artist to play!
Keweenaw Co+op is a proud supporter of this event.
